timeline:Hugh Ramopolo Masekela was born on April 4, 1939, in Witbank, South Africa.t the end of 1959, Dollar Brand (later known as Abdullah Ibrahim), Kippie, Jonas,Makhaya Ntshoko, Johnny Gertze and Hugh formed the Jazz Epistles, the first African jazz group to record an LP and perform to record-breaking audiences in Johannesburg and Cape Town through late 1959 to early 1960.Following the March 21, 1960, Sharpeville Massacre - where 69 peacefully protesting Africans were mercilessly mowed down and the government banned gatherings of ten or more people - and the increased brutality of the Apartheid state, Hugh finally left the country. Hugh was helped by Trevor Huddleston and international friends like Yehudi Menuhin.By 1963, the trumpeter had recorded his first solo album, TRUMPET AFRICAINE, and the following year, Makeba and Masekela were wed.

blog entry #4.3 - adult cereal box(A)

i think this desighner to this cereal box targeted adults because its saying how its for people with health problems and helps the heart. so thats most likely for adults. i think its neutral gender. the slogan is a heart with cereal i it.

blog entry #4.2 - childrens cereal box (A)

the desighner of this cereal box has clearly targeted children because it has a cartoon leprican on the cover and has lots of colors and a smile. and it has a rainbow on the cover to get kids attention. i think its not really targeting a specific gender because it has rainbow on it so i think that makes it more neutral than it favoring one gender.the advertising slogan is a leprican that knows magic.

blog entry #4.1-design task(A)

for this project weve been assigned a famous person each to make a cereal box based on that person. i have hugh masekela-south african trumpeteer, composer, and singer.

blog entry #3.10-process journal 2 (E)

1.WHAT EXACT STEPS HAVE YOU TAKEN THUS FAR?
well so far ive completed my poster of fiji and looked up basically all of fijis facts. I also found pictures of some of fijis popular attractions events places animals flowers and its leader. i completed my sketches about fiji also.
2.IN WHAT WAYS COULD YOUR WORK BE IMPROVED?
i think i could make my work way more neat and less sloppy. also i think i could make my work more longer and add lots of more details about fiji just to have. but overall i think i stopped my bad talking habit and been way more focused about getting my work done.as for attendance i can get to class alittle more often.
